  • Several things affect the sound. Bow crossing strings at the right zone, not too close to the bridge nor too far from it. Bow crossing strings at nearly a right angle. Pressure of the bow on the strings. Speed of the bow on the strings. Tension of the bow. Play around with all these factors

  • You have to play with it a bit.. But the main thing is to make sure that your bow has enough resin on it. If you are getting a whispery sound, it needs more.

    When the sound starts coming in better, you need to press down with the bow on the strings, not just glide it across.
