デビー・ギブソン"ムーンチャイルド" 1997日本 Deborah Gibson-Moonchild

News Station is one of the Japanese major news analysis program. Making a guest appearance on it is sort of a status symbol of remarkable success, we think. Deb was supposed to appear on it but unfortunately it didn't happen since one of the largest securities company in Japan coincidentally went bankrupt and they had to provide as much time for it. They had to make it up to Deb and this short clip was the one as an apology and it was an quite unusual.

FYI, in 2001 Deb's 7th visit to Japan to promote "MYOB" had been scheduled, but regrettably it called it off because of 9/11. That tragedy happened just 5 days before Deb was supposed to come to Japan.

アメリカ本国でミュージカル「美女と野獣」の主役を務める最中の過密スケジュールをかいくぐって実現した97年の来日。当初のスケジュールではこのニュース番組のスタジオ­にゲスト出演することになっていたデビー。運悪く山一證券倒産の大ニュースが日本中を激震し、デビーに時間が取れなくなってしまった為出演は見送られてしまいました。実現­していたらと思うと本当に残念です。番組側は埋め合わせとしてお天気コーナーでこのクリップを流すことにしました。邪魔な天気予報が出るのはそのためです。

2001年9月にはアルバム「M.Y.O.B」のプロモーション及びミニライブのため来日することになっていましたが、またしても運悪く今度は同時多発テロが来日5日前に­発生。史上最悪のテロ被害の大混乱の中、いかんせんどうにもならない航空事情と大混乱の世界情勢にとても国外に出れる状態になかったため、とうとう中止になってしまいまし­た。

2010年11月3日、日本の特別企画アルバム「MS. VOCALIST」を発売し、同月13年ぶりの来日を果たしました。Sony Music Japanから発売されたこのアルバムは日本の大ヒット曲をカバーしたエリック・マーティンの「MR. VOCALIST」の女性版にあたり、サザンやチャゲアスなど日本人にはお馴染みの男性アーティストの曲ばかりを集めた珠玉のカバーアルバムです。不本意ながら2001年­の来日がキャンセルされたことに、日本のファンに申し訳ないとずっと気がかりだったことがこのプロジェクト実現に大きく影響したと語っています。大ヒット曲「Lost In Your Eyes」を日本語で歌ってくれているのは日本のファンへの最大のプレゼントです。（好き嫌いはともかくネ）

I liked that Debbie's music of the 90's became much more serious and classic. "Deborah" was very underrated. 'Moonchild' deserved way bigger promotion - what a beautiful song!!!

I was a Debbie Gibson fan during her heyday in the late 80's. I never heard this song before, but she gives a great performance. I like her as a brunette here as well as her clothes & boots, which give her a sexier look. As shown in the intro, Deb still has that nice, upbeat personality. Her Japanese is tremendous.

@masterbater35 I know what you mean- i met her in 2004 in LA @ the Company play and when I met her, I couldn't even speak. I even had a speech. She was cool though-she asked for my name and signed everything. She knew I was nervous. She's an amazing woman
