In the final briefing, American troops are told this will just be another day, another bombing. Soon enough, however, the event causes a media storm. Hear first hand accounts from the crew that flew the atom bomb to Japan in this clip from the BBC.
@kentamitchell Yeah, Hull got it wrong, but you are right. I understand your need to be right. You probably would feel responsible if you ever assume it was not the right decision, but you did not take that decision. Others were responsible. Also check yourself the numbers if you don't believe me. Check how large was 2nd general army (the one with HQ in Hiroshima) and where were the troops during the bombing.
Also the bomb killed about 20000 Korean slaves, same as # of soldiers.
@kentamitchell I'm discussing targets, not use of the A-bomb. It was known that the 2-nd general army (with HQ in Hiroshima) was located in Kyushu, about 300-400 thousand men. But they chose to bomb almost empty HQ.
@kentamitchell General Hull told it better than me. While discussing possible 3rd target he said: "In other words, should we not concentrate on targets that will be of the greatest assistance to an invasion rather than industry, morale, psychology, and the like?"
Also Hiroshima was left undamaged by conventional bombing on purpose, so the destructive power of A-bomb could be seen.
Also calling names is stupid, you should restrain yourself doing it. It can't help you.
3. Dr. Sterns of theTarget Selection committee (May '45) calculated that since H was located in the Ota River delta, it formed six different islands and would not be a good fire bomb target.
4. General Spaatz reported H was the only target that didn't contain Allied POWs (report was incorrect)
You want # of j troops in Nagasaki? send me a tuition check or look it up yourself, silly biatch!,
GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!!!1

@upisoft2 "almost empty hq" "Little Boy" killed approx 20,000 j troops

@upisoft2 Hull got it wrong. The effect of the A bombs on Japanese (hirohito's) morale made an invasion unnecessary.

@upisoft2 What you fail to grasp is that an invasion and/or blockade would've killed MILLIONS of J civilians.

@upisoft2 Reasonsfor Hiroshima'sselection
1. Army hq
2. munitions plants
3. Dr. Sterns of theTarget Selection committee (May '45) calculated that since H was located in the Ota River delta, it formed six different islands and would not be a good fire bomb target.
