Bottle Orienting System (prototype 5/11/11)

This is the latest prototype (as of 5/11/2011) of the Bottle Orienting System. The system uses computer vision software to detect the orientation of the bottle, then automatically adjusts its position. The system is also able to detect a missing or cocked cap. Further work includes building a permanent gate and finalizing the circuitry and control panel. This project was done as part of a Senior Design project by Servando Cordova in conjunction with Medina Agriculture products.

The video shows the bottles being processed at a rate of 13 bottles/ minute or one bottle / 4.6 seconds.

The system is expected to achieve a minimum rate of 15 bottles/ minute (1bottle/ 4 seconds)
