Today, Monday 26th July, Beacon Hill Film Project has been named as a finalist in the 'Best Arts Project Category' of the National Lottery Awards 2010. The awards recognise the amazing work being done by lottery-funded groups across the UK. The aim is to highlight the significant difference that projects - both large and small - make to communities everywhere and to celebrate the achievements of the people behind them.

Beacon Hill Film Project has made it possible for young people with severe learning difficulties and autism to create and produce their own films from script to screen. The latest seven-month project gave young people in North Tyneside the opportunity to explore and express their creative talents, to nationwide acclaim.

To vote for Beacon Hill Film Project project call 0844 686 7774 or visit www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/awards.

The winners will be announced 4th September on a live programme on BBC One.
