First time out on my home made ski bike conversion at Sierra Resort in Lake Tahoe, CA. Check out my build pics:

The rear end was sliding out to easily so I moved the rear ski back for more stability.

  • wher did u get the ounts for mounting the skis on the bike

  • @critisisistic i made the brackets. click on the link under the info.

  • Is it so hard to stay with your both feet on the bike or you just do that for fun?

    Nice vid btw !

  • @Daaniepollar the back end was sliding out way too easy. i ended up moving the rear ski back later that day and it made for a more stable carve. i designed the triangles with extra mounting holes allowing me to adjust the settings of the skis.

  • Tuck your uphill elbow in and it makes the back end come around without putting your feet down. I just learned this past winter.

  • @knordberg i'll try that this season. we just got some good snow.

  • Nice project!

I've got a hardtail ski-bike and a seized front fork and was wondering how your suspension feels.

Does it not take some pressure off the edges when you really want them to be digging on. Or, does it react the same way a Full-Sus bike would on the trails?

  • Did you have any problem taking tht on the slopes i made on too but i stacked 2x4s and used 3 inch drywall screwed through the ski into the 2x4 and then 5 inch long 5/16 wood screws through the top and put a groove in the 2x4 and made round stock threaded rod axles im gunna make a vid of it today

  • @rodpontemayor so you say with the back ski farther back, you drift less? or do you mean when the bracket is attached to the center of the ski? mine drifts a lot too you see, although sharpening the skiis seemed to help a lot

  • @critisisistic wanna sell me a set

  • where did u get the brackets to mount the skis to th bike

  • @brandonschmit It didn't work perfectly so i added a solid rubber bungee to the front section of the triangle brackets front and rear to help keep the skis level. the jerking motion of jumping would cause the skis to swing back and forth. it was kinda sketchy
