This is a recent loggerhead turtle experience we had offshore Charleston, SC. It is not common these creatures come this close out of curiosity. He did it twice.

Normally these turtles get away from divers as quickly as they see them. Not this one, I suspect he may have been one raised and released from a habitat.

  • It was offshore, about 30 miles. We were out getting lobster and spearfishing for grouper and snapper. I think this dive was about 80' deep.
