what i want to know is, does it have a way of knowing if it is making good contact with the gear? I figure you could use the touch sensors for some kind of feedback system. otherwise, a little outside interference and you may get gear slippage.

You could also move the rotor vertically and, depending on that position, turn a second gear that transmits the power to the second wheel.
