When they were supporting the Buzzcocks (which is on the 1st part of the "HATYM" video), it was clearly stated that they had their sound/mix sabotaged.This is from the 2nd part of the video and Peter Hook said that the sound was never too clever when they played live. Hence Martin Hannett-the 5th member of the band, seeing the potential & creating the Joy Division sound on Vinyl. There will never be another band that comes anywhere close to Joy Division...some get it...some don't. Fair play...
