YAMAHA RD 350 YPVS MK1

Year 1991 Had just completely re-built my old worse for wear RD 350 YPVS,
And was starting the old girl for the first time since a complete engine re-build, Many thanks to nick for recording this, My short micron race pipes did his microphone no favour`s,
This is a very personal video of myself, my old friend and my dad,
But after 16 years I have decided to make it public and hope you enjoy watching me thrash this 2-stroke machine just turn up the volume,
Video restored from old VHS format,
Just a note to say, this bike was Fully race tuned by myself and would top out at 130mph. This was the fastest RD 350 in the west midlands.
Yes it was also geared up!
Those were the day`s !!
Anyone remember Enville Common,
This bike was raced almost every sunday, Lastly a big thank you to my neibours for putting up with me.

i remember going up the common on a sunday, best time was when a cbx 1000 took out a landrover, was brilliant till they put the barriers up, remember the writing in middle of road LET US WHEELIE IN PEACE PIGS those were the days

I don`t condone breaking any laws but,

We used to have some fun,

Although as you say there were a few accidents,

I remember the police chasing another guy on a an rd350lc, chasing him in circles for about ten minutes,

Everytime the rd came past there was a cheer,

Everytime the police BMW came past BOOOOOOOO!,

After the common we used to do a flat out blast to stourport !

Oh yes i remember someone painting a white line accross the road with START in big white letters LOL !

Hi bigD,

I remember one day at enville,

Two different guys were pulling wheelies,

Head on at abot 50 MPH each, Both on RD350LC`s,

I thought this was quite mad until on the third run one guy looped out,

He landed on his spine and could not stand up for 20 minutes,

This gave us plenty of time to drag his bike out of the road,

Those were the days !!

Notice that i give the clutch such a hard time, That the clutch expands causing the bike to stall as i brake heavily with the cluch lever pulled fully in.

I was pulling up anyhow but did`t want the engine to stall so i immediately released the brakes and dropped the clutch back out to restart the engine.

Now thats what i call old skool stick !

This bike was the loudest rd 350,

No joke i`ve listened to many,

Rare short race microns with wadding partialy removed,

Ask any expert or owner,

This was flat out in first gear only,

Remember i am running it in with new pistons & Rings + new power valve seals !!

It is impossible to ride this bike faster in the short distance that i rode it,

The volume on the recording is very poor so crank your speakers up to the max to apreciate the classic sound.

I remember having sex with my then girlfriend while on back wheel of my Z1300,she was cowgirl position on the tank!.I probably could'nt do either now.Happy days

i used to wheelie my mtx 125 at the common and any other bike someone was willing to lend,anyone got any photos of enville.p.s remember when the police car got trashed,for stopping someone wheelying,then loads of riot vans turned up,that was the end.

Yeah mad dayz up there..I had a 250 RD...used to do a rider-swap over at about 70mph with my mate..had my mate on a CBX550 slam into the back of me after doing a side by side show..Had a mad Talbot Sunbeam up there too ..

Nice to see some fellow lawless LC boys, I had a MK1 LC in Marlboro colours by Dream Machine,spent all my cash on it ,Pro am kit,same pipes as yours ,micron brace,micron chainguard,rearsets,sports two/four type seat.........in North Lincolnshire circa 1986/87..about 10 of us with "Elsies"........great times indeed.........DAVE
