Hey Rick I had bought one of those mics 2 years ago and i connected it onto my mini tripod with the mount that comes with the mic and it broke so i bought a another mount off ebay (plastic)
pretty much the same one that came with the mic and that was fine no issues i was wondering if i got a dud or is the mount cheaply built??? Coolkid599gto

@coolkid599gto Well,the plastic is cheap and nasty, although you might have got a dud holder as i've never had an issue with mine. glad to hear you were able to get a replacement

RICK I NEED HELP! :( i got mine today and when i tried it i got nothing but a white noise :( but all my other mics work with my camera? :(

@mrphotographyperson Flat battery - make sure the battery you put into the HT-81 is brand new. recahrgables don't work well.

@mrphotographyperson 6.7volts? yikes - it only needs 1.5 - maybe that was the issue?
