This one was a commission from someone at etsy.com. It's the biggest sculpture I have yet made - there are some pics with a standard 12 inch ruler in it to let you get a sense of scale, but I think it's about 2 1/2 feet long. It's made in aluminum wire since copper would be too soft for me to sculpt that large with. I deliberately decided to make it curving and asymetrical in it's stance to give it a sense of fluidity and movement befitting a Chinese Dragon. I also decided to give it some nice details such as the horns, frill, eyebrows and eyes (made of hematite), whiskers, teeth, and back fin. Anywho, enjoy!

The song in the background is "Layered Synth PPP11" by Mark Clark, who has provided his music for all to use for free.

  • O.k... check this out. That is a totally cool dragon wire sculpture... but I just can't resist wanting to add polymer clay!! LOL (I sculpt with polymer clay) oh, man.. I want that.. =D

  • @TheBroodingTom I used to sculpt with polymer clay, but I find it's a very fiddly medium - you never know if it's going to get a tiny piece of fuzz stuck to it or if it's going to burn in the oven right after you put so much work into it. I've pretty much quite with that. Actually, I haven't been doing much recently as I'm kind of burned out on artworks in general right now...

  • @c5365 Thanks for the reply! Wow... I never seem to have trouble with this clay.. NEVER burned it either =O If you ever try again, check your ovens temperature with a thermometer... as far a fuzz goes you can always sand it and hand paint it.. I just finished a alien sculpture using Premo colored clay, I did not paint one thing on this, turned out pretty neat. Hope you continue your art.. its amazing!!

  • @TheBroodingTom (this is a reply to your other message, but for some reason, youtube isn't working there right now for me, so I've put it here) Oh don't worry about that, I just feel like taking some time off from this sort of stuff for now. I've got a huge backlog of video games calling for me! I'm sure I'll get back into the mood eventually!

  • wooow thats awesome.

  • @MightyMasterMC Thanks!
