Brent Abel of www.WebTennis.net demonstrates an important element to producing a good tight spin on your 2nd serve to help solve your two main 2nd serve challenges:

1 - Getting plenty of safe height over the net, and
2 - Creating enough spin to help curve the ball back down into the service box.

  • Thanks a lot, Brent... Your tips have really improved my serve. Keep up the good work! God bless.

  • @skybrowserfox Glad you liked this tip. Brent

  • sometimes i just end my second serves with my racquet on my right side, . also helps kick the ball

  • @millionairejh Pete Sampras, Boris Becker, and lots of the great servers showed us how that works for extra spin. Be careful though, your elbow and shoulder are at risk... Brent

  • Hi Brent,

What grip should I be using on my 2nd serve?

Keep up the great work, John from London

  • @contemplation09 Hey John and thanks for your Comment. Continental or eastern backhand will give you the best chance for spin.

  • @ZXcannon What are some of the common tennis teaching cliches you're sick and tired of hearing? Brent

  • i just found out how too hit a second serve properly, and it goes in really well. it also bounces away from the opponent at the last second. better too have a good second serve than a first.

  • very good tip. Will work on it tomorrow. thx!!

  • Brent, great tips man. I've seen a ton of them and they've helped a bunch in teaching all ages/ skill levels. Andy
