In some countries (for adults) it could mean bastard, motherfucker, asshole, and in some cases it is used to denigrate your masculinity by suggesting that your wife is cheating on you and you are an idiot who does nothing about it while all others mock you.

But today youngsters use it as 'dude', 'bro', or for stuff with the sense of `awesome`, `cool`, `brutal`. This word is too versatile in modern Latin American Spanish to have a simple definition.

But it has nothing to do with being gay.

I love this song!!!! you don't have to argue about this,Red Hot Chilli Peppers knows pretty well the hispanic culture and words use everyday in USA, near the half speak spanish,in this case A.Kieds got it spot on!!! and I can sing it with my english dudes!!! No tienen pa que pelearse por una palabra,ni que el Anthony no supiese de que esta cantando,la mitad de usa son hispanos,ademas la escucho con amigos ingleses y la cantamos a coro y entienden "cabron" como se quiera.
