Sandra might have been better at fighting than Bridgette, but you also have to look at who directed the scene, who chreographed the fight for the movies, etc etc. Its not 100% the actors.

Sandra was a lot better and more suited to play Sonya Blade, she's flexible and can execute some of the more difficult moves that Bridgette.
