@busypete And just TRY to drop a Les Paul.... You will snap the head off EVERY time... with a Strat.. it just bounces.. i know from experience... Strats RULE!!!

@busypete well... by doin that you are comparing two guitar players not 2 guitars... how about comparing 2 guitars sustain played by one guy alone.. i disagree with what you said basically.. i have a strat and a lespaul and my lespaul drowns the place with sustain thats why i use my strat all the time because i am not a sustain fanatic

@busypete If you want more sustain on a strat Callham guitar parts makes a kit for $130.00 and it is a saddle and trmelo block replacement ,the tremblock is made out of cold rolled steel very high grade and you will see a world of diffrence over the cast shit that comes standard.

I really don't like the tone on this strat to be honest. also these guitar aren't suposed to have that much hum that's whatg i heard but check it out at like 3:28 lots of fuckin hum..

@LFWOL or u could look at it from a standpoint of experience. something like a 30 year old american strat compared to a 30 year old les paul will always have the les paul come out on top. that guitar is made for sustain. the strat isnt

Gilmour compresses the hell out his strats often using two at once. Get a demeter compulator and an analogman comprosser and you sustain like Gilmour. His sustain doesnt all come from his guitars, its not as simple as that.

my '77 iceman bolt-on-neck sustains better than my les paul. but also, my les paul is a 2007 and hasn't aged yet. so that might be why.
