The City of Gering boasts one of the finest park systems in the State of Nebraska. Gering is committed to providing a clean, safe, and fun environment for enjoyment. Parks Include: Northfield Arboretum and Park; Gardner Park; Legion Park (home of the Gering Arts Festival); and Oregon Trail Park which is the location of the swimming pool with a 147 foot water slide, softball and baseball diamonds; plus many other neighborhood parks throughout the City.
In addition to our beautiful parks, Monument Shadows Golf Course challenges golfers at our scenic public course and Five Rocks Amphitheater, located on the outskirts of Gering, is one of the most breathtaking outdoor venues in Nebraska.

Gering is also home to Oregon Trail Days, the longest continuous running celebration in Nebraska. Oregon Trail Days is held the second weekend in July.
