Look what you can do with a bunch of freeware, some pictures downloaded off the internet, and a blue cloth! My 6 year old son said he wanted to make an outer space movie. I already had a video editor that could do blue screen because my father had bought the entire studio 10 package, but then couldn't figure out how to use it, so he gave it to me, (YAY!) The first thing I did was search Google images and downloaded as many planetscapes and outer space pictures I could find, which I edited with Gimp,(freeware). I also downloaded as many outer space sound effects I could find, which I edited with Audacity, (freeware). Then I downloaded Anim8tor, a freeware 3D animation program and a bunch of free 3D models. I stuck my blue cloth an the wall of my basement and the rest is history! I do have to thank my friend Ed. I did the music on his computer because he has a complete set of smartsound disks. Thanks Ed!!! I hope you enjoy our video.

  • It should be featured by youtube someday, it's very very good.

Just one question...how did you do the robot's voice?

  • I used Audacity.

  • Once I had the animation done in Anim8tor I saved it as an AVI, which could then be opened in Studio.

  • It was the second hardest part of doing the video; the first hardest part being clearing out my garage so I could pull the car in to do the interior shots!

  • Hey Peter, that was awesome! I almost spit up my coffee when Wil beeped at the other spaceship because it was flying too slow. And what a cool project to do together! You can't buy times together like that.

  • great job, very professional

  • Priceless. Fun video, that little boy must have been very happy to be in a movie. :)

  • The little guy went toan undiscovered city, yet the city on Creplon was too far way? "The planet was burning up my feet, now the jetpack is burning my butt." Hehehe. "Fire!" *Star Destroyer Explodes* HAHAHA-cough-HAHA. A six year old blowing up a star destroyer...that is priceless. Great job with the video. It's impressive. This'll be interesting to show him when he get's older.
