I would just bet that, in 1937, Herb Morrison and his crew knew exactly which words to use during their broadcast, fully aware that someone, someday would reverse those words on modern audio playback and discover this ridiculous fabrication!

Of course, putting everything else aside, why would anyone think that a radio reporter covering the landing (who was otherwise not connected with the operation of the airship or its flight from Germany) would have any special inside information about the cause of the crash, consciously or unconsciously?

Not convinced. I googled it for mild curiosity's sake. Turns out, surprise, surprise, that this reverse speech stuff is rejected by the scientific community as a pseudoscience because of its methodology and because it lacks a theoretical basis to make predictions of this "theory" even worth testing, AND the fact that many of his claims are untestable! What's "spooky" about it is how the human brain can perceive meaningful patterns in random noise.
