Not a live video obviously, however I added a slide show to keep it interesting. This has never been released prior and is titled "Lunar Eclipse". A little history on this one... Many years ago I was in the studio and we recorded this improvised track with me on bass, and Erin Conley on drums. Finally (over a decade later) I revisited the analog tapes and came up with a single guitar part to retain that power trio feel. Lot's of slide here, an altered tuning, and bass wise even some controlled feedback loud enough to make the snare drum buzz! Towards the end a single open A string swells into 3 part harmony with some guitar shaking for vibrato. Played my original '59 burst straight into my '89 Trainwreck Express, and I added a little reverb and tape echo during mix down. This track will be on my 2nd CD which I hope to complete in 2011. Thanks for listening! http://www.glenkuykendall.com/

  • Great song and the tone of the amp is always amazing. What kinda of speakers are in that Marshall cabinet and can I get your music on itunes?

  • Thank you! The cab on this is my '68 Marshall slant cab with '71 dated G12M 75hz 25 watters. My first instrumental CD "Can You Hear It Ring?" has 8 songs on it and it's sold out in hard copy form but is all now on Itunes. That said, the tune in this video "Lunar Eclipse" will be remixed and then put on my 2nd instrumental CD which is still in the works.

  • Sweet sound and playing Glen. Does your "wreck" have el84s in it or something else? Thanks, Keo

  • Thanks! I used my '89 Trainwreck Express on this tune running NOS RFT EL34s.

  • your guitar tone is always amazing! Thanks for sharing. I have been looking for this sound my entire guitar life. I first heard of TW amps on your vids. Cant thank you enough for sharing. Cheers.

  • I really appreciate the note!

  • @GlenKuykendall Many thanks for the reply!

  • Thanks! I was playing an early 90s mexican Fender P-bass w/SD pickup into a cheap Whirlwind DI > Tascam m520 board > Tascam MS16 analog tape deck. During mixdown I used a DBX 166 compressor. During the jam I split the signal back out to a solid state power amp and 1x15 JBL cab. I had the volume cranked WAY up to get the controlled feedback going with the bass plus I was standing right next to the cab. The bass and drums on this was 100% improvised, and over a decade later I added the guitar.

  • Damn sweet - happy new year

  • @GlenKuykendall

Seriously, that's one of the best bursts I've ever seen, and I'm YouTube basically everyday lol

    Thanks for posting, as usual!
