i saw and met jethro tull when i was 12....most amazing, funny, talented, and down-to-earth guys. its been 8 years, but man.....best first concert ever. i still have the napkin that martin barre wrote me a poem on.
I've seen Jethro Tull live three times, and each time was different. The best by far was when I saw them in a small venue. I was only a few feet from the stage, and they really rocked. It was in 2002, not long after this video was made. I got to meet the band (except Ian, who left from a different exit) briefly after the show. Was one of the most fun concert experiences I've had.
I have to admit when I first got this album I thought this song was a throwback to an old lumbering rock dinosaur ... but it does kind of grow on you. The overall speed is not my favorite tempo, slowly upstairs faster down ... but it dramatized with the choppy bass and the flighty flute! Love Tull!

When was this actually performed? Ian's voice is pretty good; almost to his old performances. Best of his recordings I've heard in recent years.
