Very nice speech! It inspires me.
At 17 Im a youth as well. With all of the amazing and nearly infinite possiblities of ham radio, why shouldn't normal non-ham youths not care?
Here's the cure: Send some kids to a remote Pacific island (with some adults) and give them some provisions for however long they should stay. After a few hours, some teen will say "I'm bored.

But if you add a ham radio and an antenna...

Maybe we should start advertising "Weekend Getaway" instead of "We do that Radio"

Great speech Duncan! & i agree that most youths... just dont care anymore, as sad as that is.
