Yeah, but the Greek philosophers, like Plato, were influenced by the teachings of Zarathushtra.

Last thing: I can continue talking about the greatness of the Persian Empire, but then I would hand-cramps. Too much to write, just google it and you should be fine (if you find the right website).

About the Empire: Persepolis, Susa, Babylon, etc.. these were the greatest cities at the time. You think there was only desert, dust and sun. But no, you're wrong, these cities were more vital than the whole Greece. The Persian kings made a complicated and wonderful labyrinth of canals that brang water everywhere they wanted and made a spectacular environment. What you see now is the result of what Greeks, Macedonians and Arabs done in this land.

Persian army was drilled to any kind of war, they knew what kind of tactic use and when even without the order of a general (Greeks couldn't fight on their own). The gretest persian king, Cyrus, "pubblished" on the famous Cylinder the new rules of the empire, what must the next kings do. He gave freedom to Jews and let them make their temple, he gave freedom to any slave, he said that every worker will receive money for the work he has done, he let people to practice every religion they wanted.

First of all: Persians weren't primitive/rough people. The troops were perfectly drilled (every soldier could use bow, sword, shield, spear and horse (and other secondary weapons such as axe or mace), every persian king had a perfect warrior body and they could fight better than any other warrior of the world, every persian king was cultured (at young age they had to study and practice with weapons all the day)
Greek didn't know anything good about war strategies, etc...
They had luck in both Persian Wars (as the other users said). People are now modifying what was the true history of Persia.
The only things I liked about Greece are its Philosophers, really nice mind, opinions, ideas.
