Cau de Bruixes, Centelles, Spain

Witches have a long history in Catalunya, as the festival in Centelles reminds us.

February marks the month of Carnival, the Catalan Halloween', and with it appear ghouls, spectres, spooks and monsters. More than one pointed hat will be visible in the crowds of costumes parading the streets as the familiar figure of the crooked-nosed witch returns from the shadows of our dreams to the streets of Catalunya.
