@bobindashadows22 not really true. back in the horus heresy it was huge battles. but now from the books i read i rarely see huge battles except for 2 books that had space marines and IG involved. and you rarely see thousands marines deployed cause that would be a couple of chapters. and i dont think they can afford an all out war. Space marines are meant for Surgical attacks

@Aleglost Not all chapters have 1000 members. IE: Space wolves, Grey Knights, Black Templars.

It can be possible very easily. Relic should release a horus heresy era Dawn of war. Where legions had up to 25,000 marines in each of them. that WOULD be awesome.

@bobindashadows22 yo, dude, screw the other guy about homework(i like it) but anyway those 2 examples were real crisises like the horus heresy siege on a___ something that where the emperor lives, and orks are generally fighting the imperiam(mostly space marines) for fun like the D eldar, yes grand epic scale battles are cool but dont u see that a chapter of sms only have a max of 1000 members?, imperial guard on the other hand dont matter as they have bills but other than that it aint possible.

@CZProtton do my homework? havn't you encountered forge worlds yet? the imperium cannot spare to destroy them worlds. anyway just look at such instances as:

The third war for Armaggedon?

The 13th Black crusade?

2 perfect examples, anyway the inquisition only performs exterminatus' when the world is under daemonic possesion. not because of orks. when it comes to orks, the imperium usually fights them back.

@bobindashadows22 Do your homework. Space marines company is about 100 space marines. it must be very bad situation to get more companies at the same place. And if is billion orks in one place and good armed, there will be exterminatus, not huge battle.

dow II sucks. Warhammer 40k is not about small tight skirmishes and small squad based action, its about huge epic battles where millions of imperial guards and thousands of space marines crash into a billion strong ork horde with titans and all the imperial paraphanalia.

Dow II is ridiculous.
