We went to Grayling with a couple of friends to scout out the off-road trails. Here is a little of what we found. There were so many good trails that we have more trips planed this summer and fall.

  • I know where that last hill is in the Hanson Game reserve just south of the camp. The best trail in the area is on the backside of that hill. It is very cool and follows the ridges up and down thru the woods. Have you seen the Iraqi villiage the Guard set up next to pipeline hill?

  • @daddyrat No, I haven't seen that, but it sounds like I probably should. After leaving that bowl near the end of the video, we followed the yellow Jeep to an off-limits area and got chased away by some rather unhappy soldiers.

We'll have to head back sometime, but we've been finding ourselves drawn to the UP, so I don't know how soon we'll be able to dedicate much time to Grayling.

  • great job with the vid we go up there every year and play in that same area

  • @chevyredneck08 I don't know about the South Camp, but the 40-Complex in the North Camp has changed. We were out there in late April and they're added a bunch of new fence, blocked off some trails and clear cut a bunch of timber. They're working with some ammo that's more potent, so the Army is closing off larger areas of the camp (on a temporary, day-to-day basis). You might want to keep that in mind if you're heading to the North Camp.

  • awesome h3

  • Thank you. We absolutely love it.

  • Looks like this is a very nice spot to go have fun. I have lived in Grayling all my life and have no idea where this is. I would like to go have some fun.

  • question for you. can you tell me on how you can get to these trails. my family and i go up to Waters which is about 15mins away from Grayling and we pretty much know the area. we are trying to look for some spots to go and everything is for ATVs only. so if you can that would be nice if not thanks anyways.

  • nice JEEP!

  • If you send me a personal message with your e-mail address, I can send you a Google Earth file that will show you where we went.
