"Mini-Mash" is difficulty level 3 of 4 when it comes to homebrewing. It is an easy step up for the partial-extract brewer. Here I am going over the steps of brewing Morebeer's Oatmeal Stout (kit320 on their website)

  • Very informative and well spoken. Thanks for this!

  • @williabk - Thanks, I'm glad it was helpful

  • Great video. Thank you for showing how easy it is to mash without buying tons of equipment. Much appreciated!

  • @jtylersingletary - Thanks, I'll tell you the cheap and simple "Phil's Phalse Bottom" I got coupled with a 20$ 5gal picnic cooler was the best thing I've made so far... second to the fermentation chiller of course... It doesn't HAVE to be a 500$ stainless this, that, or the other...

  • You've convinced me to upgrade from the extracts. Thanks -- great video

  • Awesome! You'll love the results, the more you control the process the more it is YOUR beer.

Going All-grain was great for me, that and the fermentation chiller to control my fermentation temps was the best I've done so far

    cheers!

  • Thanks, friend. I finally did get my videos up here.

    Happy Brewing :)

  • you roast ur own barley for ur stout?

    what's ur recipe?

  • Cheers man. Should have watched this yesterday before I did my first mini mash with an Irish Stout. Have an old fermenting bucket that I could easily turn into a mash tun.

  • Thanks Dan, welcome back, and let us know about the video!!

    cheers!

  • Nice video. I'm getting back into brewing after a 5 year break. I was just starting the mini-mash stage when I stopped and your videos are a great way for me to get back up to speed and feel confident about getting right back into mini-mash brewing.

Who knows I may do a video also :).

    Thanks for sharing.

  • I've seen that done, I've thought of making my own so I can control the holes!

    Thanks

    Cheers!

  • Ever use a colander to serve as a sparger when doing martial mash? They make 'em that will sit on the lip of a plastic fermenter like yours. Good video ... informative!

  • the guiness breweries label

  • what is on your hat?
