This video is a little old, but another difference is that Edluar bypasses your digestive system, which is important to people on drugs that slow digestion like Victoza. This has a major effect as I now don't have to take ambien 3-4 hours ahead of time and I don't wake up in the morning extremely groggy.

yea thats prettty expensive. the main thing i hate about z drugs are they give you a tollerance really fast. i live in cali so i just get a 215 card and smoke weed to go to sleep :) i smoke it all day but if you just use it for sleep its so much cheaper.

I got my scipt filled today. I'm not impressed. I told my doctor Ambien doesn't work for me. So why did he try this if "Zolpidem" is Ambien?

@FlyingPhoAddict I am not sure why your physician would give you the med you said doesn't work for ya! Zolpidem is the generic of Ambien -they are exactly the same thing. Ambien (zolpidem) can help fall asleep but wears off early in the night. There is Ambien CR (no generic available) that helps people fall asleep and stay asleep longer.

Thanks for the great info. I was just prescribed zolpidem 5mg and paid $47. So can I ask for 10mg instead on my 3 refills and pay the same price?

@crossroad2010 Hey! Actually your physician would need to rewrite the script for zolpidem 10mg 1/2 to 1 tablet by mouth at bedtime as needed. You can ask your pharmacist to call the physician and change it over the phone. Then it will cost the same.
If you would like, you can email me and I will send you a link that has a discount card that is FREE and will decrease the price to less than $10 for 30 tablets!
Thanks,
Nova

@GetPharmacyAdvice If people are using insurance this probably wouldn't work because alot of insurance companies would require a prior authorization and this would be on the lines of insurance fraud. Advising people to tell their doctors what to write for them isn't very good advice.

Hi! I have a free discount card that can be used instead of insurance. I am unable to post the link on youtube. It would not be insurance fraud, if the MD agrees that the pt could take 1/2 to 1 tablet at bedtime as needed.
As for telling people what to ask their MD about-1) often MD's don't understand how insurances work and 2)-part of our mission @GetPharmacyAdvice is to educate and empower patients to take part of their healthcare decisions.
