  • Rowlesburg, WV would have never been much of anything if it wasn't for a great man named Dr. Eugene S. Prince. He was the dentist in Rowlesburg way back. He helped so many people. He was so kind to everybody he met. Dr. Prince didn't even charge some people for the great work he did. He also gave a whole lot of money to the town for a lot of different things to be built, etc. Some people took advantage of him. Dr. Prince did more for Rowlesburg than anyone ever did or ever will!!

  • I Believe This Was A Video Clip Of NBC News' NBC Nightly News With Tom Brokaw's Report On Rowlesburg, West Virginia Which Was Flooded By The Potomac River On Wednesday Evening, November 6, 1985.

  • I don't remember much I was only 5 but both sets of Grandparents (Bulfords and Wolfe's) and all my aunts, uncles and cousins live there. I remember my granny and papaw had nothing and they were living in a small camper that someone donated to them. Today Rolwesburg is still a small town but they are a very strong town. Recently went back this summer and they have redone the school and turn it into a place where the community can go and have a great time together. Love Rowlesburg

  • i lived in rowlesburg when the flood happened. my home was one of the places that was lost. god this means and brings back alot of scary memories.

  • Haha it definitely recovered. My grandmother and aunt live there and it's pretty nice now. The area right next to the river is a big park with ball fields, and they're converting the old high school to an arts & community center.

  • This small town DID recover, and it is the perfect place to live. My husband and I are so proud to be a part of it. We live right on the Cheat River, yes, the one that flooded its banks, but it is worth the risk to live here.

  • I wasn't born yet. But, my dad went through this!! i can't believe little ol rowlesburg made it on here. LETS GO RIVERLIONS!!!!

  • I have lived there all my life I'm 28yrs old i was 4 going to be five at the time i lived in sanders trailer court lost everything.

  • I guess they were wrong, Rowlesburg has recovered, They underestimate the toughness and tenacity of West Virginias. we are a tough bunch!

  • He'd probably be about 30 yrs old in that footage
