Cheoyongmu is a dance originating from the period of the king Heongang, Silla dynasty. The dancer wears a mask of Cheoyong and sings a song "Cheoyong-ga". It is based on the tale that with this song and dance, Cheoyong impressed and expelled the God of small pox who was to insult his wife. It is the only example of a mask-dance in the royal dance category.
