These have obviously already been posted here. While the video quality of this copy is no better (in fact, it's probably a bit worse), the audio is in better sync, and the very beginning of "Road" isn't cut off...so I figured it was worth a re-post. From the ABC "In Concert" program.

  • It seems that The Hollies went through many different musicians. Tony Hicks was the one who was always there. Their harmonies are fantastic. Many bands that perform live often sounded different then their albums. The Holies are the exception. Great post.

  • Bobby Elliott the drummer has stayed with them throughout as well. However, in actuality neither of them are truly "original" members--they both replaced previous guys, albeit very early on in '63 and '64.

  • Who's on the harmonica?

  • Mikael Rickfors, a Swedish vocalist who joined the Hollies when Allan Clarke left for a spell in '72-'73.

  • Keeping everything crossed, for the induction of this great band!..(.i'm hoping the outfit that TONY has on in this video, will be hanging in the halls of the RRHOF)....

  • That would be swell! Bobby is the Great Keeper of Hollie Memorabilia, and apparently he even has a lot of their stage outfits in his archives, so who knows, it could turn up...

  • @roots66 cheerz dude

  • @TheHillbillyHermitt1 Tony is playing bass on "Long Dark Road," and Bernie is playing the organ there somewhere in the background. They're playing their usual instruments on "Carrie-Anne." Terry's on rhythm guitar during "LDR" and maracas on "C-A."

  • Try The Hollies IF IT WASEN`T FOR THE REASON, should of been a single but sadley never was. Rickfors IS LEAD SINGER...................

  • Great seeing them live & changing their usual vocals/instruments. They were fine without Allan and looked like they were having fun. I love how Terry bows after each song. Classy!

  • Simply great - The Hollies without Allan - also fantastic. This LONG DARK ROAD version is fantastic. Rickfors had his problems with the english language - we all know this - but great. I never can see them live with Rickfors. Did anyone have a real good live concert tape with the Hollies + Rickfors ???????

  • @morinicuk i agree, you can really see these boys having fun and getting into it! don't ya wish ya could-a been there?!! i love that they switched up their instruments and shared vocal duties - tony just stepped up to the plate - awesomely talented musicians!!!
