After getting the hammer, i would go to 4th palace just to get the glove and upgrade the sword.
Then start 2nd palace etc.

The ice palace run is pretty difficult. I'm trying to do a 100% run and keep getting into the wrong room. Well, this helped out lots. I hope I can get a run done without extra heart containers, default sword, and armor. I'm having fun playing this through again.

This is absolutely one of the best video games ever made. Countless hours getting through this and then replaying it again and again.
