PLEASE READ

Credits- (since none of you seem to read them -.-')

Programs used: Paint Tool SAI, Photoshop CS3, Camstudio, Windows Movie Maker

Music: My Chemical Romance-The Ghost of You

Character: Layla, a borzoi character created by myself.

-----------------------------------

So guys, it's about time I drew Layla again! Since the last Layla picture ( the one spotted at the begining of the video) was the first picture of her, I think she needed some more love :3

So why she is being shot, is NOT an animal cruelty statement, or anything of the kind, this is purely in relation to the story am creating.
Who she is running from is currently irrelevant, but you'll have to wait for the story when I actually get started on making it :)

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it, and all comments/feedback is much appreciated!

  • PLEASE ANSWER. ;n; I desperately want to know how you shade like it has some sort of.. Gradient? Please help! (Note, I use Paint Tool Sai and Photoshop Elements 8)

  • @Hypercookiehugs Well, for starters I always do gradient cell shading in Photoshop ( I use CS3), unless you make gradients manually in SAI, which I don't really do for cell shaing, in photoshop however, when I select and delete areas I want as highlights, I use the gradient tool set to the colour of the shading and add a little gradient coming from the direction of the shadow scource. I probably didn't explain this very well, but if you have any further questions, feel free to ask :3

  • ANYONE!? This has been bugging me for so long, anyone who can answer this is a god! I see this in digital paintings all the time, once the outline has been drawn they simply colour the drawing in without drawing in the background. Can anyone tell me how this is done???? Is it masking or selection tool.. or? I've tried to figure it out, and I can't find any tutorials.. Please help! - Milly x

  • @FightingDreamsPro LOL don't worry I used to have that problem too ;P What you do is after you've made your lineart you flood fill the colour layer underneath, then on the lineart layer (using some sort of magic wand tool) select around all the outside bits of your character, then on the colour layer hit delete (or cut if using SAI) Once you've done that you set the colour layer to -preserve opacity- or mask the layer if using photoshop :P Hope this helps, any more questions feel free to ask :P

  • Curious: Why do you use the blue to color at first?

  • @LoryskaEntertainment Ah yes, what Luphirasoul said, it's Paint Tool SAI's version of the draw select tool :3
