My 20+ year old mac (and similarly aged printer) printing out some photosynthetic absorption spectrum data that was gathered in one of my BIO111 labs and then entered into a MS Works spreadsheet.

  • MS Works, huh? What version?

My father, "way back in the day," used to use MS Works 3.0 extensively, at home and in office. He wouldn't even use ClarisWorks 2.1 as much.

Those were the days when my father had an SE/30 at work, while we had a Color Classic at home, and we as kids would have our own 3.5" disks for homework. My mother remembers using DOS at her office, and she hated her IBM 386 to death.

  • I think it's version 1 - I looked at the box and it didn't specify so presumably it's the earliest that was available for macs.

  • I see. It's good to know that some of the older Macs are still running quite well. In 2005, we lost both our SE/30 and our Color Classic to ROM failure. At least, I think that was the cause of the computers' deaths.

I should have mentioned in the previous comment I made that we also owned an ImageWriter II. I even had one for myself when I started having my own Mac Classic II.
