actually you forgot the easiest way to get into a safe--they make small cutting torches if someone wants to get in they will, it would be better to buy an $800 (fire)safe to store guns in rather than no safe at all if that's all you can afford.... at least will be deterrent enough for crackheads to grab other stuff and keep guns off the street.
I don't own a safe, but need one, but a $1600 safe would probably not be much more secure honestly, but it is what I would buy though.

@sturdysafe1 If a lock have access to any particular safe, they can figure out a way to break in, American or not. You simply demostrated that your lock smith solved the safe. ANY safe can be broken in if you have a demo one to learn it!!! So there goes your stupid "American" safe comment... Donate a safe to a reputable lock smith, give them some time to learn it, I guarantee your safes will be broken into as well.

Might be a Patriot? Patriot says they are Made in USA 100%?

@sturdysafe1 Are you saying Liberty safes 59" high are made in China as well?

This is an entry level safe costing a few hundred dollars im guessing, mainly to keep kids and a maybe a meth head out. Surely someone wouldnt buy a safe like that to protect a fortune? Keep in mind everyone dont have five grand or more to spend on a real safe.

Same breakin techniques work on most (by not all) American made safes. So Chinese or American same gauge are about the same

What do you think of Steelwater safes they show on youtube how a punch and axe attack doesn't work on there safes, but I don't see on there website where it is made. I would like to buy one of your safes but the cost is out of my budget for the amount of guns I have.

What do you think of liberty and Browning safes my neighbor just got his safe door bent open. The police think they are using some kind of tools not the normal pry bar because the door was bent in a V shape to get the bolts out. I went shopping today to look at safes I saw browning and liberty which they claim can't be pried open but I'm not so sure the door is 10 gauge sheet metal rapped around fire proofing. The only thing that is really strong is a UL TL30 rated safe.

@sturdysafe1 my kids aren't going to be this sophisticated and knowledgeable. (and they aren't likely to destroy something that belongs to me anyway)
And what about criminals you ask? Well, they have to find the safe first, and if its hidden well, and locked behind a sturdy steel door with a hidden lock, that will slow them down. And the main thing? Its called INSURANCE. The things I own can be replaced. And my safe would pass your tests anyway, so all my other precautions are extra
Nice of this video to inform would-be criminals of how to break into various safes. I didn't spend 1500 dollars on a gun safe, and would prefer my mid priced safe to stand somewhat of a chance against criminals without them learning on youtube how to get into it.........

Instead of getting mad at us you should be getting mad at the manufacturer who made the safe. Unfortunately, we can't tell you who that is. Considering you and people like you who have these kinds of safes, we did not show specific drill points on the door from the outside and we did not show how easy it is to break into it with an axe. This video will hopefully get people to remove the door panel, to look at the linkage on the safe they are going to buy.

Looks like a sentry safe. I am debating on purchasing a sturdy safe, but might go for a 3-4 gauge instead.

I don't believe Sentry makes a safe that has steel thicker than 12 gauge on their gun safes (10 gauge is thicker than 12). Let the steel thickness, for the cost, be your guide... even though we offer a real fire insulator and abusive resistant linkage design too. : )

That looked like a BIg Horn Safe

Incorrect, but those safes are not any better.
These safes go by many different names. Some of the distributors claim they are Made In America. The Chinese mfg can make them anyway the distributor requests, but there are ways you can point them out by the 59" height on the shorter safes, dead bolt pattern on the door, fully grey carpeted interior, hinge decorations, 10g body, 1/4 or double 1/4 door, and the same gun rack design.
