A little footage inside the cab of this Baldwin 734. Auto stoker keeps the fire burning for the most part. The coverage in the firebox is minimal directly inside the door and in the back corners, providing a need for some hand stoking here and there.

  • @4freespeech i thought 734 was oil fired when i saw the automatic stoker, i was wrong. i wish they would take the air clapper off the bell, it sounds much better when somebody hand rings it.

  • I rode on this train and the most disappointing thing to me was the fact they had a DIESEL pushing it. I'm still pissed. Then after it gets to the end, it gets towed backwards by the diesel. Very sad.

  • The plastic pop bottle at 0:41 gives it a nice historic touch. The old guys hand

fired the engine and rang the bell. Who installed a stoker and automatic bell

to save burning excess fat off the teenagers who run it now? Wouldn't

have hurt them at all to swing that shovel & pull the rope. Its HISTORY.
