the Rillito River near Dodge Road, Monday morning. This is just outside the Humane Society of Southern Arizona (www.hssaz.org); it's usually a deep and very dry wash that people ride horses and walk dogs in. This morning it was nearly full and flowing fast and dangerous, threatening to wash out a nearby bridge. It also had numerous trees in it that were being washed down from Mt. Lemmon.
