Virtual Tour of Yad Vashem's New Holocaust Museum

Yad Vashem's world famous Holocaust History Museum is a prism-like triangular structure that penetrates the mountain from one side to the other, with both ends dramatically cantilevering into the open air. An experiential dimension was integrated into the museum's design, giving visitors an overall impression of the time, place and atmosphere. Inside the museum, a series of diagonal channels cut in the floor of the walkway (prism) guides the visitor into each of the eight-meter high underground galleries depicting different chapters of the Shoah. The gently sloping floor and narrowing prism enhances the changing narrative, creating the illusion of descending deep into the mountain. Different aspects of the Holocaust are reflected through the use of original artifacts, documentation, testimonies, film, literature, diaries, letters, and works of art.

I don't understand why there is still hatred and holocaust denial reflected in Youtube comments. Really feel so sad. Holocaust is a blemish on the history of Mankind. Judaism, one of the ancient most religions of the world has produced some of the best brains of the world.

My dad owns a retirement home n California and one of the women there is a Survivor of Auschwitz. I often think to myself, how do these people go on after they saw what they saw and experienced what they experienced? Seeing death and loss. Yet when their children visit, you realize, that is how they go on? The Nazis tried to exterminate them but they failed and seeing their children shows the failure of the Nazis and the Reich.

I started reconstruct our family tree 3 years ago and discovered we actually have a very. very large jewish branch. Many of those distant relatives (over 80) were brutally killed during the shoa (holocaust). I got me thinking and got my interest, we must never forget this dark episode of human history!!!

you see survivors today and you think of its just them, well its wrong they rnt just people, theyre special. and it very sad because they watched theyre family die sometimes. and dont you LOVE you family with all your heart? i even fell sad myself for these innocent people. just because your religeon doesnt mean anything about death. i dont even know why people forget about this worst nightmare. they suffered. you didnt. so be happy for them and give your family a hug

@ALiz2618 people who called themselves proud germans were those who participate in the holocaust. so please shut up! scholl and schindler didn't fight against the nazis/helped jews because of them being germans but being humans. so fuck your stupid nationalistic rubbish - thats one of the things that actually made the holocaust possible.

I'm proud of people like him. We have to remember the victims AND we have to remember people like Hans and Sophie Scholl, Graf von Stauffenberg, Oskar Schindler... ect. When I think of these people, I can mourn because of the victims AND I can be proud to be a german girl.
