Bose is not even close to the top three in pro audio. Bose is the laughing stock of all of us that are actually professional audio engineers.
No offense.... but Bose sucks big time - especially in the pro field

@sunsetsniper i can't tell whether this is a joke or not.... cerwin vega?! behringer?!?!?! it sometimes pains me to use behringer gates over dbx ones, never mind behringer cabs over, say, jbl.

Bose is not even close to top three in Audio because most audio professionals don't like to spend money on quality. Secondly, the biggest beauty of Boseis the smaller size. They are by far the best looking speakers for ther size and output! Most morons think that bigger is better. Clients spend thouands on decor and then the Audio guy brings in big ugly speakers.
It's really simple, if you can afford it, say I can afford it, don't knock it!

On portable systems though I'd have to go with the HK Audio LUCAS range. There's one in our church and it's kicking for it's size.

@bryr74 in what way? Is it lack of sensitivity/output? Poor high frequency extension? I imagine Bose would be ok for providing decent quality for small venues and medium loudness levels, but I'd prefer some proper horn systems for anything requiring a lot of oomph. To be fair, I've only heard the 802s in person as they are used for Grandstand PA at the Royal Welsh Show. They got quite loud although I'm not sure of the power it took/sensitivity.
