Tony uses a compass, protractor and set square to make a circular pattern of fleurs-de-lis. He then transfers the design onto a paper plate using a permanent marker pen.
Margot makes a model of a pink Cadillac car, using pink, black, cream and mirrored card, and clear plastic.
Joanna visits Bristol's Industrial Museum with some kids. Together, they decorate cardboard boxes and tubes, which they then use to build a rocket.
Finally, Tony experiments with chequered and tessellated patterns, including a bird pecking at a seed.
First broadcast in 1988.

Tao Te Ching chapter 11...
"We join spokes together in a wheel, but it is the centre hole that makes the wagon move.
We shape clay into a pot, but it is the emptiness inside that holds whatever we want.
We hammer wood for a house, but it is the inner space that makes it livable.
We work with being, but non-being is what we use."
