Lumpini stadion Thailand, February 1964, after Sosai accepted the challenge from muaythai that the rest of japanese karate had ignored it.
At the time the Muaythai fighters was highly ranked, although after this event many thais have tried to do "damage controll" and claim that they were not.

second fight of the 3 on the card.
Japanese kyokushin fighter Akio Fujihiha (2nd dan)(who later became a champion kickboxer with the fight name Noboru Ozawa) in black trunks, vs the Thai Muaythai fighter Huafai Lukcontai in white trunks.

  • I hate how ignorant people claim their style to be "the best".

I've seen good Muay Thai fighters being murdered by TKDka's, and opposite. I've seen Karateka's make crybabies of Boxers, and the other way around. I've even seen a BJJ blackbelt being raped by some random drunk in the streets. Why? It all comes down to who gives the most at the moment of truth, his limitations and how well he incorprates "his way". Style is just platform. How you use the platform and make it your own, is up to you.

  • @tenwords1

Nah thats not Mas Oyama, The fight went on to long for it to be him. You could also tell because the ring was not littered with dead bulls. Damn I wish I was alive and old enough to have learned from him.

  • @aldridge1 I've heard that Cherokee Native Americans believe where they're is the center of the whole universe. What I don't like about Muay Thai is little kids on the rings. I don't like seeing little kids hurt.... I think I'm being a hypocrite.... Come to think about it I've seen Korean kids get serious hurt knocked out in Taekwondo matches despite of wearing all the safety gears.

  • @dokkiro Thailands MT greats tend to be too small for most UFC weight catagories. And to be honest top level MT guys don't care for UFC and consider it to be low skill generalised fighting with neither great striking or great grappling. Thai's consider fighting at Lumpinee to far more prestigious and is their true goal. Not everyone thinks the UFC is to be all and end all.

But no, I don't know why Buakaw doesn't like watching MT kicks.

  • @aldridge1 Sure if you say so. I don't see any Muay Thai greats from Thailand competing in UFC. These Muay Thai kicks will overshoot and throw you off the balance momentarily and if takedown was allowed then game over. Baukaw said he cannot stand watching Muay Thai kicks. Do you know the reason why?

  • @dokkiro Mirko Cro Cop wiped the floor with many proficient wrestlers and only had limited grappling knowledge.... Stuff a few takedowns and the grapplers game plan falls apart.

  • This Video is piece of crap a Great insult to us Martial Artist FUCK!!!

  • Crap video. There are videos recorded in the 40's that are 100 times better.

  • flyingkn33 I think they are way too over rated for mma thesedays. Once a proficient wrestler gets any part of you.... But anyways I just don't think those kicks are any different maybe except for some added rotational speed.

  • @dokkiro whats wrong with thai kick only thing with thais is wrong that they not into technique that much they'll be standing in kick distance and bashing each other with their kick sometimes but those kicks are hardest, i dont get what you mean about buakaw ? he is an example of thai kick, thai fighter :) he was #4 in lumpinee ratings

  • The caption pauses in this video are so annoying. Is there a version that runs through without all the stops?

  • @flyingkn33 According to Baukaw he cannot stand watching Muay Thai fighters. ? I am not sure what he meant by that exactly. He said it like there were something wrong with Muay Thai kicks. I can only recall 2 from Thailand who took the championship title.
