Iron Maiden - Virus (with lyrics)

"Virus" is a song from the self-titled single of the Best Of The Beast compilation (year 1996), where it was the only new and previously unreleased song. It has two versions: the longer one (which is this one) and the shorter one, with the slower intro part edited out. Blaze Bayley sings it, and does a great job in my opinion. Here are the lyrics:

@JakePremier Even then! :P I first heard maiden when I was 14 (didn't discover music until that age, played NES 8bit and internet didn't exist yet), also discovered GY!BE a few years later, been on and off maiden all the time, now I'm 28. So you can expect to go through quite a few more phases when it comes to taste in music, just saying so as you know what to expect of life.

I find it funny that I used to love Iron Maiden a couple of years ago when I was younger (I'm 17), but I've moved onto to different kinds of music when I was 16, but even then I can't escape it. I discover a band called Godspeed You! Black Emperor and lo and behold, they have a sample of a guy off the street they find, I guess, "reciting a poem he wrote", i.e. Virus. Funny if you think about it.

@Annihilator49 Sort of agree. Not that he wasn't Iron Maiden material, more that he was a departure from what IM were seen as. By the time Blaze joined, nobody would have been universally accepted as a replacement, no matter how good (and Blaze is excellent) they were. Whoever replaced Bruce Dickinson would have been on a hiding to nothing.
