@amysmosquito "periodontal disease = gingivitis" ... Not necessarily. Gingivitis does turn into periodontal disease, but they are not exactly the same thing. You see, gingivitis is reversible while periodontal disease is not. The reason being is that periodontal disease indicates some type of gingival recession or bone loss in the mouth, which does not grow back. However, it can be prevented from getting worse. Gingivitis is reversible because that could be inflammation.
