Bing Crosby's classic 1947 recording of "Galway Bay". The song was written by Dr Arthur Colahan. Bing won a gold disc for the recording as it sold in excess of 1 million copies and reached number 3 on the charts. Bing visited Galway Bay in 1965.

Always wondered what NYPD were singing while the bells were ring out on christmas day.
An incredible talent was Bing Crosby, my old man brought me up on this among others.

One of the pics, Boys on the Shore (1884), is from Finland and the artist is Albert Edelfelt, who was one of the first Finnish artists to achieve international fame. He enjoyed considerable success in Paris and was one of the founders of the Realist art movement in Finland. He influenced several younger Finnish painters and helped fellow Finnish artists such as Akseli Gallen-Kallela to make their breakthrough in Paris.
