A story of my first experience with mail fraud. The remote-controlled ghost that I ordered from an ad in my Richie Rich comic book. It was 7 feet tall and could be controlled up to 50 feet to scare my friends. I waited all summer for the package, and was almost more impressed than disappointed.

  • I was telling my 6-year-old daughter about my experience with the U-control ghost, then did a search to find the ad and I came across this video. Great! When I got mine, the white baloon had a werewolf face instead of the "Casper" face. Also got two hole-punch sized glow-in-the dark decals for the eyes, and the crappy plastic "creeping skeleton hands" also controlled with the black thread.

  • I used to daydream about the 7 foot plastic Frankenstein monster with glowing eyes for $1 that would move when you came in the room. I would climb inside and wear it like a suit of armor. A kid I knew ordered one and got a 7 foot sheet of green plastic with Frankenstein printed on it in black and two glow in the dark sticky dots for the eyes. The instructions said to thumb tack the top edge to your door and opening the door or a breeze through the window would make it move.

  • @Topazman12 Is there an internet link the the "Things You Never Knew Existed" Catalouge? Ah, this silly flashback brings back memories! XD

  • I love this story! Very Wonder Years! XD

  • The Bazooka joe gum had a camera, it was a plastic one. For the 1.25$ Ghost, it was an exaggerated claim.

  • pervert !! just kidding !!

  • Best. Ending. Ever. That was fantastic.

  • I sent away for that "money maker" seen just about the ghost offer at 0:18 . Turns out that "real dollar bill" that comes out I had to supply and it was really intended as a magic trick. Imagine my disappointment at 8 years old that I couldn't get rich by minting my own money (never heard the term "counterfeiting" at that age).

  • for online and magazine buyers

  • hmm actually the idea will work i mean you could use a pair of those small rc ufos theys ell and make a ghost with light fabric cloth and it would actually work o.O perhaps will be like uhm 10-20?
