Seen a few deviants doing similar knots - they call cleat hitch
(a) starts the same - from far cleat side to other side - but not back - instead immediately in to
(b) the figure eight - but again immediately in to
(c) the twist

I do have a question, you see the horn, usually for docking, when we bring the ship back.I was wondering if you have a video showing a horn like that on a wall instead of it on the floor. The steps to tieing it.

Glad you found the video helpful. Doug has a book of knots on his website boatingwithdawsons. Not just how to tie but also the many uses for each.

Johnnywad89,
The steps for tying a Figure Eight Cleat Hitch are the same whether vertically or horizontally. Start with the far horn and end on the near horn.
