  • wow! thats awesome!

I absolutely love this tune, im just learning it too, what grade would you compete with it in?

  • Well, these tunes are all capable of being played at the highest standard meaning professional and even the Gold Medal contests of Scotland. Many people think that one has to play 6 part marches in open but that's not the case. The judge is looking for a good pipe, nice crisp fingers and a musical presentation of the tune. They are all possible for grade 1 or 2 if you're willing to put the work in!! Thanks for asking and enjoy. (I play open by the way).

  • A very well tuned & balanced pipe played with very nice/clean execution (esp in the top hand parts). Both Con & K/C (IMHO) would benefit from being pointed slightly more & also giving a wee bit more value to the smaller notes that connect between the phrases. This was a pleasure to listen to.

  • Dear Paul. Thanks for the nice comments. I really should pull my finger out and try joining a good band. I was P/M of the Cincinnati band for a few months but the dedication and willingness to commit and learn just not present in too many players. Do you play and with whom? I have friends with Nagara Regional Police and Durham Regional Police and one of ur Cincy drummers, Joe o'Connor is playing with Windsor but need to decide whether I have the time to commit to such a BIG commitment. Dave.
