@industrialsun Then again,it was how the playoff format was structured for 12 years prior to the 1993-94 season.It was all inter-division up until the then-Campbell Conference final.The Kings had mostly been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

@industrialsun The Kings 1993 run wasn't a fluky run so much as they were due for a long time to get to the Finals.They just ran into a red hot goalie in Patrick Roy and not to mention that everything came together for the Habs at the absolute right time.

For a couple of seasons back in early 1990's, the Flames probably would have won another Cup if only they had gotten past the Kings and LA may have won a Cup if only they had gotten past Edmonton. After making Final in 1993 any window for the Kings to compete for a Cup slammed shut.

The days when white was worn at home...those were the best home/road uniforms of both of these teams..and the classic arenas, SaddleDome (which Flames still use) and Fabulous/Great Western Forum...
As for the Kings, 1 Canadian team down...

I love listening to Bob Miller too. I watched the Kings here in Phoenix before we got the Coyotes in town. He is the best play by play man in the NHL no questions asked.
