The London-Paris Cycle Tour (londres-paris.com) is the unique 3 day Tour de France style endurance event for amateur and cyclosportive riders. It is the "professional event for amateurs". Like a pro event it has full support, rolling road closures and covers 520 km in three days followed by a rest day in Paris. This PRO/AM event has seen stars such as double Olympic Gold James Cracknell, TdF, Giro and World Champion Stephen Roche, Sean Kelly, Johan Museeuw and Brian Smith.

2009 saw stars such as ex CSC Team Director Sportif Scott Sunderland, who took the CSC team and Carlos Sastre to victory in the Tour de France join Stephen Roche, ex England footballer Geoff Thomas double UK Road Champion Brian Smith and double Olympic gold James Cracknell.

The Daily Telegraph listed the event as one of 25 International events to enter alongside others such as the New York and London Marathons.

The event attracts riders from all over the world and is known for its friendly, sociable atmosphere, hard riding and great spirit!

  • Does any-one know how much it cost to enter?

  • about £860, incl entry, food, accommodation, baggage, channel crossing, support (100+ crew for 350 riders) from start to finish, DVD etc and rolling road closures to Paris

  • Is there a jersey included in that price? I'm not counting the figures or anything, it's only that I saw a guy in the video wearing a "Londres-Paris" jersey. :)

  • a T Shirt is included, but the Londres-Paris kit was acquired off the web site.

  • @ph1lo @sharpnup If the event you are talking about is 4 days of riding then it must be another one - ours is 3 days - 100miles per day!

However if you are riding for GTF then you must be doing this one!

  • @sharpnup The minimum amount to raise is £1350, slightly concerned about that but will give it a go!

so far im riding alone, and i just received my info pack 2day.

    some details for you:

    Day 1-95 miles

    Day 2- 75 miles

    Day 4- 60 miles

    Day 3- 70 miles

I am nowhere near this level of cycling, and will need to get fit for it.

The cycle itself is set to go by many landmarks and countryside so should keep you motivated.

  • @ph1lo ...Nice one mate!! Good work! Is it still raising £1400??

I am really keen to sign up and get amongst it.

Are you riding alone or have a group of friends joining you? Have they sent the training program out to get on?

Will be a great ride to Paris!

  • @sharpnup im new to road cycling and i just signed up, so at least you know theres one beginner doing it! i havent cycled more than 35 miles before, but will get trained up for.

    go for it!

  • I've been eyeing this up for a couple of years now-(Sick of talking about it in my mind!)

Whats the pace of the group?

    What are the current costs?

  • search: NO DETENGAS TU PROGRESO
