Hear the original studio version here: http://www.amazinglicks.com/JeffGarner-Timeless-Studio-Version.mp3

Because of the flood of requests for a backing track, I am now releasing it to my Youtube friends - Enjoy! http://www.amazinglicks.com/Jeff_Garner_Timeless_Backing_Track.mp3

"Timeless" is an instrumental piece I wrote way back in 1991.

Originally I used a drum machine but for this video I had Bruce Gaetke play drums. It's not a bad song but not up to today's standard so keep that in mind (80's influenced).

This video was filmed in Dec-2006.

"Timeless" is in the style of classic 80's Neo-Classical metal that made guitarists like Yngwie, Paul Gilbert, Vinnie Moore, Jason Becker... so popular.

  • Silly question: was this learned or an improvisation?

  • @pjarunek

The whole song is pretty much improvised. I wrote the song in a studio in a couple of hours by piecing together chunks of riffs I noodled together then I did some harmonies over them. Lots of fun but not the most musical as far as having a hook!

  • dood amazing job, i would like to know what bands influence u alot, cuz ur amazing.

  • @TheSonsofHorusx

Thanks - influences are Vinnie Moore, George Lynch, Yngwie Malmsteen, Jason Becker, Paul Gilbert...
